Will magazines go iPad

ipad 150x150 Will magazines go iPadThe major cover story for most magazines leading up the iPad debut on Saturday will read the ultimate question of whether consumers will be willing to spend their hard earned dollar on reading content off of the new tablet computer from Apple.

A new study from comScore the audience measurement firm, estimates that about half of current iPod touch and iPhone owners would be willing to pay for E-reader subscriptions for devices such as the new iPad and Amazon’s Kindle.

Apple is hurriedly adding on new titles to distribute with the iPad this week one of which is the 125 year old publication The Sporting News which already has made modern strives ahead by offering free apps for iPhone users regarding Nascar and Pro Football.

President and publisher of Sporting News Jeff Price is sure that readers will be willing to pay for the premium content stating that the combination of placing the news on an interactive touch screen will let fans delve into their favourite stories as much as they want.

However, the magazine is going to have plenty of competition as over 200 magazines already have offer subscriptions to iPhone users via the Zinio technology and can be expected to offer the same deals for users of the iPad.  Among the magazines are top rated subscriptions to Cosmo, Esquire, and the iPhone Life Magazine.
