Loaded magazine to get a complete overhaul by new owner

In the 1990s it was clear that Loaded was the most popular lads magazine on the market. However, since this time the magazine has seen a significant downfall and it has recently been purchased by businessmen who is said to be going to be giving the magazine an injection of X-rated material. The businessman is also known for being a chat show host and occasionally starring in his own pornographic films.

The businessman, Paul Baxendale-Walker, is perhaps most well-known for inventing the controversial tax scheme that led to the investigation of Rangers football club. Loaded magazine was in administration and tears bought it from them in order to continue the publication.

He sees the magazine as being away to bring his adult businesses to mainstream media attention. He has also said that he wants to see a television channel about the magazine set up and more nude content in the magazine.

The magazine has been struggling for the last decade and it is thought that this is largely because the images from the magazine were being made available free on the Internet. In 2000 the magazine had a circulation of over 350,000 every month, today however the figures are closer to 35,000, and are continuing to fall very quickly.

The firm of administrators responsible for dealing with Loaded are Cooper Young and this is where Baxendale-Walker purchased the magazine. He has commented, “I think that there is a good amount of synergy between this magazine and the multimedia ventures that I already own. Loaded as a magazine that focuses on lifestyle and I think that this sort of fun magazine as the sort of venture that I want to be involved with.” Mr Baxendale-Walker is also known as Paul Chaplin, a name that he sometimes uses while hosting his chat show.

He has also stated that he wants to see two separate television channel setup. One is going to be focusing on non-adult content, while the other is going to be an exclusively adult channel, which is going to be called Loaded Babes TV. He clearly hopes that both of these television channels are going to become mainstream.

Other magazines have attempted to launch television channels including the other popular lads mag, Nuts. This television channel was started in 2007, but was not successful and was taken off the air just two years later. Mr Baxendale-Walker has said that he thinks he can do a better job of launching a television channel and really believes it has a strong opportunity for success.

Mr Baxendale-Walker was educated at Oxford and became a solicitor, however he was struck off the rolls in 2007 after some tax problems. He is known for being involved in many ventures including tax consultancy, lactose free restaurants, and multimedia ventures. From records that are available at Companies House, it is also clear that he is involved in a great many other ventures including financing several musicians and television programs.

He is also the owner of Bluebird Productions, a production company that makes pornographic films. He is known for directing, and occasionally starring in these films. On the other side of things he has also recently published a book about avoiding tax and has promoted it in an unusual way with a YouTube video that openly goads the revenue office.

He continued, “We think that loaded can become a successful magazine again by promoting the Internet side of the business. This is something that I have a lot of experience in because of my other adult ventures. I think we can bring this magazine back to its previous success levels.”

New Manchester magazine has hit the shelves

A new magazine has been launched in Manchester which is going to profile the most influential people living in the city. The magazine is going to focus on the 250 most influential and they’ve recently held an event which has seen a great deal of interest.

The magazine is being published by MEN Media and it has recently hit shelves across the city. The magazine focuses on people from many different areas including industry, business, sports, politics, and media. It also focuses another important areas including charity and religion. The idea behind the magazine is that it is going to serve as a Who’s Who guide for the region.

The launch event was held at the Hilton hotel and was sponsored by Hill Dickinson. The guest speaker at the event was Sir Howard Bernstein who is the Chief Executive of Manchester City Council. In a speech he hailed all of the people who have been named in the magazine for their contribution to the city and everything they have done to make Manchester great.

He also highlighted how the individuals in the magazine have come from all backgrounds and have all made a great effort to make Manchester the sort of place people want to do business and live. The event also saw other notable speakers including Steve Anderson Dixon, the director of Trinity Mirror and the head of Hill Dickinson, Geraldine Ryan.

New edition of Business Monthly focuses on Dunelm founder

Business Monthly magazine is a 50 page publication which this month has a focus on the founder of the Dunelm homewear company. This is Bill Adderley and he is the wealthiest man in Leicestershire. The magazine also sees interviews with other important people in business, including high-profile executives.

Interestingly, the magazine also has a focus on other important people in business, such as personal assistants. This month the magazine has a focus on examining how the lives of these people have changed over the last few years.

Paisley publisher acquires the Nationwide Bowler magazine

A Paisley-based publisher has recently purchased a magazine that has previously been distributed to bowling clubs around the country. This magazine was previously given to 8000 clubs on a free basis and was called Nationwide Bowler. The magazine is now going to be owned by Connector Publications, in Scotland. This publisher currently owns other magazines including Scottish Dental.

The magazine has been purchased from PSP Publishing Ltd which is based in Glasgow. PSP are also responsible for publishing golfing magazines and those that focus on celebrity fashion. Nationwide Bowler has a current print run of about 15,000.

After the takeover has been completed it is expected that the next issue of the magazine is going to be published in June. The director of the company is Alan Ramsey and he has commented, “We are very excited to be taking over this magazine and adding it to the collection of titles that we are proud of owning. We first launched a magazine back in 2010 and since that time we have enjoyed a great deal of success.

“When we first published Scottish Dental we were very pleased to see that became a hit in the health sector. We even use this to begin the Scottish Dental Show which takes place in Glasgow in May. The event has already sold all of its tickets and we are looking forward to welcoming 100 exhibitors to the show which will see over 30 experts from the industry speak. We think Nationwide Bowler is a magazine with a bright future under our roof.”

Good Housekeeping’s sibling magazine released for tablets

The company responsible for publishing the popular magazine Good Housekeeping has recently launched a new sister publication which is going to be published on a quarterly basis. It has been specifically designed, not as a print publication, but as one that is targeted towards tablet devices.

The magazine is being called Good Ideas and is also launching in a print format, and is going to be produced by the same team responsible for creating Good Housekeeping. The publisher of these magazines is Hearst Magazines UK and they have recently commented in a release that, “This magazine is going to be targeted towards those who use a tablet to read articles. It is going to have a strong focus on creating greater visual appeal for users.”

The magazine is also going to have the option for customers to click through to retailers websites who are featured in the magazine. It is expected that 150,000 magazines are going to be initially printed and 300,000 digital editions are going to be made available.

The magazine is being targeted towards women aged 35 and older and it has been described as covering a wide range of areas from the home, to food and fashion. Director of the publishing group is Judith Secomben and she has commented, “We think launching this new platform is a fantastic way to appeal to a new audience of women. We want to provide the readers with trusted advice and inspirational articles in a new way that fits in with the modern lifestyle.”

Two new rival magazines released within a day of each other

A new woman’s magazine has recently been launched by Hubert Burda Media UK. This new magazine has been designed to counter the recent release of a rival publication called Landscape, which has been released by the publisher’s rival, Bauer Media.

The magazine is called LandLove and it has come to news stands just a single day after Landscape magazine was released. Both of these titles have a focus on British crafts, cooking and nature. They are both produced on a bimonthly basis, with six issues being produced every year.

The publishers have stated, “This magazine is going to focus on the beauty of the countryside in the UK. It is going to give inspiration as well as practical advice to those who love spending time in the garden and creating different crafts.”

The magazine is being edited by Anna Lisa De’Ath, who has previously edited Your Home magazine. The magazine is going to retail for just under four pounds and is going to have an initial circulation run of 75,000. The magazine is going to have a complimentary website to accompany it.

The new editor has commented, “This is a great time for this magazines launch because it has a strong focus on British culture and this is something that is being celebrated this year, with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee as well as the London Olympic Games. In terms of customs and traditions, there couldn’t be a better time for this magazine to launch.”

This new magazine, and also its recently released rival, are both being targeted at women who are aged 35 and above. Ms De’Ath continued, “This magazine is going to be a unique offering in the UK marketplace and we are very excited about its launch. It has a focus on lifestyle, rather than lifestyle products.”

Less magazines than expected have gone onto tablets

A recent study has suggested that the infiltration of magazines to the tablet market has been less prevalent on first thought. Many publications, and people, were thinking that reading magazines and tablet devices was becoming very popular, however a recent study has shown that only 30 percent of people use their tablets to read magazines.

The study has been commissioned by Deloitte and it has shown that around 90 percent of people prefer to read magazines in the print format. Despite the improvements in tablet devices, this figure has not changed in the last year proving that print magazines are still a very active industry.

2011 was ranked by the company as being a very good one for magazines as over a third of respondents said that they subscribe to one magazine or more. This is an increase of around seven percent on the same figure for 2010.

Interestingly, despite the improvement in the technology, subscriptions to magazines that can be read on a tablet have remained flat at around two percent. Only around seven percent of people who responded to the survey said that they preferred to read magazine content on the computer rather than on a tablet or in print.

The study commented, “The magazine industry have a decision to make about how they want to develop their tablet offerings in the future. It is possible that the reason the growth is slow is because this technology is still in its early stages, but it is also possible there is a more fundamental reason why people don’t like to read magazines on the tablet devices.”

The study commissioned by Deloitte also looked into how many people are reading printed newspapers. Across the country it is estimated that around four in every 10 people read a magazine or newspaper once a week.

This is a figure that has been declining in recent years. In relation to local news, the study showed that people who were in their mid-50s or older are more likely to buy a local newspaper, rather than a national one. Online news preferences also tended towards local news, rather than national.

Elle magazine has never had a male on the cover by himself and this honour is about to be given to David Beckham. His deal to appear on the front page of the magazine comes after a recent appearance by his wife on the front of the glossy woman’s publication in recent months.

About appearing on the front of the magazine he has commented, “This is a very prestigious magazine that is recognised internationally and I’m very honoured to have been given the opportunity to be the first male to appear on the front of this magazine solo.”

He is going to be appearing on the front of the UK magazine and it has been said that he has been selected to appear on the front as a nod to his sporting achievement in light of the Olympic Games which are about to be held in the UK. It is not expected that the photo shoot is going to be a particular trouble for Mr Beckham who has already made a career out of appearing in front of the camera.

He has recently modelled designer underwear for the Armani fashion company and has also designed his own body where range for H&M. There is a lot of speculation that before appearing on the front of the magazine he talked to his wife about her appearances as a method of preparation. The magazine have released a statement saying, “We think Mr Beckham is a hero for the country and we want to celebrate him by putting him on the front of the magazine.”

Hello! magazine set to launch in Pakistan

Pakistan is not usually a country that people would instantly associate with glamour. However the popular magazine Hello! has recently announced that they are going to be launching their publication in the country. It is hoped that the magazine will encourage people in Pakistan to become more interested in their domestic celebrities, rather than those who are present on the international stage.

The magazine is going to be released in the country in the middle of April and it is going to cover all of the glamour and gloss that it is known for in the countries where it currently circulates. It is also hoped that the magazine will help alleviate some of the rather gloomy images that are usually associated with Pakistan by foreigners.

There are already several magazines detailing celebrity life in Pakistan and this has clearly demonstrated that there is a market for them. This magazine is going to be the first to open a franchise of this sort in the country and they have said that they are taking a rather different approach to the way the publication is printed than in its other major markets, the UK and the US.

They have said that the magazine is going to have to be different because in Pakistan the siting of a celebrity is not really major news in the same way it is in the West. They are also expecting to have to deal with distribution issues as many of the population cannot read English, the language which the magazine will be published in.

The magazine is also going to retail for around six US dollars which makes it very expensive for the average Pakistani. This has lead people to criticise the magazine saying that it is only going to be able to be afforded by the countries wealthy, worsening an already existing rich poor divide.

Fashion website goes into print

For those interested in fashion there are so many ways online to find out the latest trends that many people would see it as a rather backwards move to start publishing something in the print format at the moment. With the increasing popularity of tablet computers and mobile phones, the circulation of fashion magazines has dropped.

Despite this trend, popular fashion website Style.com made the decision to launch a print version of the very popular website. It is estimated that the site gets around a quarter of a billion page views every month and they are in many ways one of the leading reasons why people are not purchasing as many print magazines.

This has led some people to be very critical of the website saying that its decision to move into print is a terrible idea. The website is owned by Conde Nast and it has established itself as a major player in the fashion world. It is not some website run by an individual blogger but it is a fashion powerhouse with ties to some of the biggest fashion names and collections in the world.

The new publication is going to be arriving for sale on newsstands later this week and is going to be delivered to subscribers at their door. The magazine is currently only going to be entering circulation in a few countries including America, Italy and the UK. However, interest in the magazine has been so strong that the company have announced that they are going to be expanding distribution before they have even sold the first copy.

There is no question that the website has an international appeal and it seems as if the media outlets are going to be able to duplicate the success in the print form. The question many people are going to be asking themselves is will it survive in the long term.
